The metal tube rotameter is a flow measurement instrument with a simple structure and reliable performance. Thanks to its core advantages such as high precision and wide applicability, it is widely used in flow measurement scenarios for various gases and liquids, suitable for a variety of industrial working conditions.

Compared with traditional glass rotameters, this product has significant advantages in terms of pressure resistance, being able to operate stably under higher pressure conditions, effectively avoiding the safety hazards of glass materials in high-pressure environments, while retaining the core features of rotameters such as convenient operation and stable measurement, taking into account both safety and practicality.

Working Principle

The metal tube rotameter consists of two parts:

Signal Transmitter —- Indicator;
Sensor — Measuring tube and float;

  • the contact medium materials of the sensor include four types: stainless steel, Hastelloy, titanium, and stainless steel lined with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE); users can select different wetted materials according to different process pressures and corrosion resistance requirements of the medium to meet the pressure resistance and anti-corrosion requirements of the process. Users can select different indicator combinations during model selection according to different measurement requirements to meet different measurement needs. The specific indicator forms and their corresponding functions are shown in the indicator type spectrum table.

Flow measurement is performed by the transmitter inside the indicator. The transmitter indicates the flow rate by sensing the change in the position of the float through the coupling magnetic steel and outputs a signal for remote transmission. When the measured medium flows through the measuring tube from bottom to top, the float remains relatively stationary at a certain position when the gravity, buoyancy, and the vertically upward driving force of the fluid flow velocity on the float reach equilibrium. This position varies with the annular area between the float and the conical tube and the fluid flow velocity, and the position of the float corresponds to the magnitude of the flow rate of the measured medium.
